International Review of Sustainability in Business and Law is a peer-reviewed journal that examines business, law, and policy issues related to sustainability.
Note: this publication is currently on hold while we complete the 10-volume Berkshire Encyclopedia of Sustainability. When that work is done, at about the time the Rio+20 Conference is held in late June 2012, we will be transitioning the entire publication and ancillary titles to a new platform. The IRSBL publishes new research as well as review articles on specialized and emerging topics in the field. It also allocates considerable space to case studies and covers controversial issues through interviews and point–counterpoint essays. The editorial coverage offers high value to research scholars, to professors in business and law schools, and to practitioners and policy makers.
The IRSBL has five main sections:
- Research articles tied to the issue’s theme
- Case studies, policy briefs, and commentaries
- Exchange of ideas (opposing views on an issue) and commissioned essays
- Book, film, and other media reviews
- Letters to the editor
The journal publishes analyses of legal and policy developments as well as empirical and theoretical research that tests, extends, or builds on environmental science and policy theory. All articles contribute to the theory and practice of environmental sustainability. We give preference to submissions that test, extend, or build strong theoretical frameworks while examining issues of high importance to practitioners.
The IRSBL is not tied to any particular discipline, level of analysis, or national context, but most submissions meet these requirements:
- Research or cases that extend beyond common wisdom
- Language and approach suitable for a wide audience
- Global relevance
